New York Area Winter Getaway Ideas: More Options

Looking to stay in the New York vicinity, but still enjoy a winter weekend away from the city?  We found several ideas today.

Montauk — the sedate tip of the island is a cozy winter option.

Independent Traveler has a writeup on Spring Lake New Jersey.  If you’re looking for a fairly upscale off-season beach town at affordable rates, you might look into one of the 11 historic inns in the area.

The Medbery Inn & Spa near Saratoga has a stay two nights get a third free package through March first.

Mohonk Mountain Resort — a pretty spectacular, old-school kind of place in the Hudson Valley has some great winter rates.  (They also have a Valentines weekend special worth looking into.)
